Meet Dominique

Guidance from inside the industry

Dominique Moore is a British actor, writer and director who has worked across film, television and theatre since the age of eight. She originated several West End roles, including the first Young Nala in the original London cast of Disney’s The Lion King, and is best known for her series-regular role in the multi-award-winning Horrible Histories. Her screen credits include ITV’s Finding Alice and the Emmy-nominated Tracey Ullman’s Show (HBO/BBC), and her voice work includes the first Black female character in Thomas & Friends, Pickle Pony in BAFTA-winning Lovely Little Farm (Apple TV+) and the new BBC Zog series.

After treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma in her early 20s, Dominique became determined that everything she had learned as a child actor should benefit the next generation. She began mentoring young talent alongside her own career, and in 2016 founded DMA London in Hackney Wick: a home for young professional actors, with the mentoring, access and support that didn’t exist when she started out. In 2020 she established the not-for-profit DMA Foundation to open those doors further.

Today, Dominique’s mentees are leading actors in the biggest film franchises in the world, in the main cast of HBO’s flagship series, headlining Netflix global phenomena, originating roles in Olivier-nominated West End musicals, working with the Royal Shakespeare Company and leading BAFTA-nominated British dramas, all before they turned 21. She brings that experience to every Private Advisory conversation: confidential, honest, and grounded in what is happening in the industry right now.

DMA actors work across Netflix, HBO, Apple TV+, Disney, the BBC and the West End.

Questions families ask

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my child is ready for an agent?

Readiness is about more than talent. Most importantly, your child needs to genuinely want to explore working professionally at this age. The right agent at the right moment can transform a career; the wrong one, too early, can stall it. In a Private Advisory conversation, Dominique gives you an honest view of where your child is now and what the next step should be.

Is full-time drama school or performing arts school the right choice?

For some young actors it’s the making of them. For others it narrows their range or takes away the childhood that makes them compelling on screen. There’s no single right answer, only the right answer for your child. Dominique has trained, mentored and worked alongside actors from every route and can help you weigh it up clearly.

How does a young actor move from musical theatre into screen work?

Many talented young performers trained for stage find the switch to screen harder than expected; for others it’s a natural next step. It takes different technique, different casting and often a different conversation with their agent. It’s one of the most common questions families bring to us, and one Dominique knows from both sides.

How can I protect my child’s wellbeing in the industry?

Wellbeing sits at the heart of everything we do at DMA. The industry can bring extraordinary opportunities alongside real challenges. Knowing when to keep going, when to pause and how to support your child through success and disappointment is part of a sustainable career. We’ll always talk about the person, not just the career.
